2025 Florida State Seminoles Football Predictions
By The Don Corleone Jones (@cjoneswho1212 on twitter)
The Seminoles had one of the worst seasons in program history last year. Florida State went from contending to a CFP spot two years ago to one of the worst Power Four teams in college football last season. Mike Norvell went out and got a whole new group of coordinators to try and help this team get back to bowl eligibility. With that being said here is my prediction for the 2025 Florida State Seminoles football season.
Offense
To call this offense lackluster is an understatement. Horrible offensive line play and lackluster play from their quarterbacks put Florida State in a tough way last season. The Seminoles went out and hired Gus Malzahn to become their new offensive coordinator. They went out and got Thomas Castellanos from Boston College in the transfer portal who has the tools to succeed in Malzahn’s offensive scheme. Castellans has weapons on offense in Roydell Williams at running back who has some potential. At receiver he has two transfers in Duce Robinson (USC) and Squirrel White (Tennessee) that will be crucial for the Seminoles. They also have four transfers coming in that will start on the offensive line so this team is going to need to get some chemistry as quickly as possible. Look for Florida State’s offense to be much improved from a season ago.
Defense
The front seven shouldn’t be an issue for Florida State in my opinion as they have two talented players in Darrell Jackson and James Williams who are All-ACC 1st team calibers on the defensive line. Linebackers should be improved and they picked up Jeremiah Wilson who will be a key play maker in their secondary. Tony White is coming from being the defensive coordinator over at Nebraska. He has shown some signs of being a good defensive coordinator and he is going to need to get this Seminoles defense to get off the field on third downs and to cut down their points allowed per game drastically.
Schedule
Vs Alabama (Loss)
Vs East Texas A&M (Win)
Vs Kent State (Win)
At Virginia (Win)
Vs Miami (Loss)
Vs Pittsburgh (Win)
At Stanford (Loss)
Vs Wake Forest (Win)
At Clemson (Loss)
Vs Virginia Tech (Win)
At NC State (Win)
Vs Florida (Loss)
(7-5)
Florida State’s win total is set at 7.5 on FanDuel with the over at (+180) and the under at (-225). This team isn’t going to win more than seven games in my honest opinion. Florida State will be bowl eligible, but they won’t be competing for the ACC title in 2025. This will be a good building block year for them to get back into the swing of things, and a good test ride for Mike Norvell with this new set of coordinators.
