2025 Boston College Eagles Football Predictions
By Don Corleone Jones (@cjoneswho1212 on twitter)
Boston College brought Bill O’Brien back to college football last year. He helped them finish 7-6 and their schedule does not get any easier this season. They are going to try and exceed preseason expectations, but finishing in the top half of the conference is going to be hard for them. With that being said, here are my predictions for the 2025 Boston College Eagles.
Offense
This offensive group has some pieces back that are looking to make an impact in the skill group. Grayson James came from FIU last year and looked good as he started in six games. However, the Eagles brought in Dylan Lonergan from Alabama who has been competing for their starting position. At running back they lose Kye Robichaux who was a big part of their running game. This gives guys like sophomore Turbo Richard and senior Jordan McDonald to be a 1A and 1B for the Eagles. For receivers their big name is senior Lewis Bond who should get a good amount of targets. Reed Harris is also another name to look out for due to his explosive nature, however they are going to need targets to step up if they want to succeed in ACC play. The Eagles rebuild their offensive line with three new starters but four of their five starters are upperclassmen. This offense has potential, but we will see how Bill O’Brien puts this offense together.
Defense
This defensive unit was the backbone of the Eagles success in 2024, as they held opponents to 3.6 yards per carry and only allowed offenses to complete third downs at 36.4%. Boston College’s defensive line got bolstered with depth after losing two of their top defensive lineman last year. The big name on the defensive line is Quintayvious Hutchins. In the linebacker room Daveon Crouch is going to be the leader of the group. They don’t have the depth, but they have three guys that can get the job done. Their secondary gets a good amount of talent back led by the trio of KP Price, Carter Davis and Amari Jackson. I like the depth that they have as well with guys like Cameron Martinez, Max Tucker and Isaiah Farris in the secondary as well. Look for this defense to be up for the challenge that the ACC has to offer them.
Schedule
Vs Fordham (Win)
At Michigan State (Loss)
At Stanford (Loss)
Vs California (Win)
At Pittsburgh (Win)
Vs Clemson (Loss)
Vs UConn (Win)
At Louisville (Loss)
Vs Notre Dame (Loss)
Vs SMU (Loss)
Vs Georgia Tech (Loss)
At Syracuse (Loss)
(4-8)
Their win total is set at 5.5 with the over at (+105) and the under is set at (-125). I think the Eagles have a tough schedule in 2025. They also have three 50/50 games that could go either way. With some inconsistencies on the offensive side of the football, I see the Eagles missing out on a bowl game in 2025. This team has potential but this group is a year away from fully unlocking it.
